New Head Of IAAF To Take Over In July

BY IN News On 27-06-2014

“To Serve, Strengthen and Promote the Independent Automotive Aftermarket on behalf of its members, to the Consumer’s Benefit.”

IAAF Mission Statement

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Association (IAAF) is dedicated to supporting the UK Automotive Aftermarket and its operators, by helping fleet operators and hauliers to understand how parts supply impact on running costs. They work on behalf of companies like Flying Penguin Enterprises to show vehicle operators that the independent aftermarket can provide all they require; from OE parts to technical support and diagnostic information.

We think you’ll agree, they do an important and difficult job.

As of next month, it’s all change at the helm of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Association (IAAF). Wendy Williamson will take over from Brian Spratt as the new Chief Executive in July.

Ms Williamson has held several positions in the Unipart group over the years so is a well-known figure in the UK aftermarket. She worked as Director and General Manager at Truck and Trailer Components (TTC), a Unipart subsidiary, and Customer Marketing Director at Unipart’s main parts distribution centre.

Ms Williamson’s experience and knowledge comes as a relief to IAAF members, and her outgoing predecessor, Brian Spratt:

“This is reassuring news for me and IAAF members. To have someone of Wendy’s experience and enthusiasm taking over the reins makes me very confident for the federation’s future prospects.”

Brian Spratt

IAAF President, Graham Knight, echoed the retiring Chief Executives sentiments:

Finding the right person to follow Brian, who would have universal industry respect and detailed knowledge, was a daunting task, but I’ve every confidence that in Wendy we have found the right person to take IAAF forward.”

Graham Knight, IAAF President

Ms. Williamson met with the universal approval of the IAAF council, and has been working a three-month handover period with Brian Spratt since April 2014. The IAAF has a very important role in securing the future of the independent aftermarket in the UK. We depend on the IAAF to ensure a fair and competitive market, so to have someone at the helm with a proven track record in the UK aftermarket industry certainly puts our minds at ease!

We look forward to seeing how Ms. Williamson takes the IAAF forward.

“Wendy’s passion and enthusiasm for the Independent Automotive Aftermarket and proven track record of achievement is second to none. I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”

Graham Knight, IAAF President
